AECOM’s National Water Business Line is actively seeking a highly talented Business Development Lead with a background in water resources engineering. The successful candidate will have a background specific to floods and disaster as well as extensive business development and client relations experience. The successful candidate will also be capable of leading business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as a capture manager on major pursuits. Proficiency will depend on strong communication skills, previous experience leading interdisciplinary teams on large, complex opportunities and an interest in mentoring team members. This is a Charlotte, NC based position, however, the physical location of this position is flexible based on candidate qualifications.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Drive national business development activities in the Water Resources market
Contribute to overall Water Resources financial metrics for wins and bookings
Monitor project opportunities from identification to selection
Manage pursuits of large projects
Serve as Capture Manager on select pursuits
Provide strong and confident leadership
Client relationship development and management
Project pursuit leadership and management
Provide National Water Resource reporting
Provide Strategic planning
Building and developing teams to win and deliver
Visible internal and external leadership to support project delivery and business development resource needs
Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas with peers and regional/national management teams
Coordinate aspects of AECOM’s Technical Practice Network
Be a technical expert in the floodplain and/or disaster field
Bachelor's degree in related field
10+ years of experience in stormwater and/or CDBG
Previous and on-going successful client relationships with major clients
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of stormwater utilities and master planning
Ability to travel two weeks a month
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
Previous experience with HUD CDBG and FEMA STEP programs
Professional Engineers license
