AECOM Senior Estimator in Chantilly, Virginia

The person who fills this position will be a member of the Estimating Team within Management Services. This person will be required to develop staffing estimates and some materials estimates in support of the Business Development and Proposal process.
Develop competitive staffing and materials estimates based on PWS, SOO, and/or SOWs issued primarily by US Federal Customers as part of RFP’s
Some customers may be Foreign Governments or commercial entities.
Interface with Capture, BD and Operations staff within and outside AECOM in order to get a more thorough understanding of requirements
Preparation of the Basis of cross-discipline Estimate - Construction to Services (Facilities, Vehicles, Aircraft, etc.)
Prepare bid analysis for scope, cost, and price – validates maintenance manuals, SME inputs to Commercial standards and/or company metrics, RSMEANS APPA, Gardnier, Chilton, Conklin & deDecker, Etc.
Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques.
Prepare equipment and material take-off.
Utilize the appropriate company and industry historical data for costing estimates.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of project and discipline estimate summaries.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of the Basis of Estimate.
Participate in estimate reviews.
Establish and maintain cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools.
Develop proficiency in the use of the Company estimating systems and processes.
Ability to work at the Chantilly AECOM office, or virtually within the DC Metro area
Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and 10+ years of experience in the Engineering or Construction Industry.
Strong Excel/Access skills
Knowledge and understanding of estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles for compiling bid proposals and construction means, methods, and sequences.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts. Possess strong computer skills.
Active Top Secret Government Clearance
Experience pricing for Government contracts
Experience with estimating staffing and materials requirements for Facility O&M, Construction, Aircraft Maintenance, Ground Vehicle Maintenance, and/or Construction.
Experience gathering competitive intelligence and developing competitor profiles and/or competitive landscapes.
