Job Summary

Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an

Operations Drill Coordinator to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.

The successful candidate will have sufficient knowledge of operations conducted at WIPP to develop and conduct a full range of Operations Drills. Examples of said operations include, but are not limited to: Underground Mining, Radiological Control, Waste Handling, and Site Control and Management. Develop a comprehensive, coordinated, and documented program of drills to ensure that preparedness activities associated with developing and maintaining program-specific response capabilities are accomplished. Coordinate and develop a drill schedule with responsible managers consistent with WIPP operational goals and priorities. Provide coaching/mentoring to drill players. Provide unbiased evaluations identifying issues observed during drill performance to verify training effectiveness and response capabilities. Champion conduct of operations principles. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Engineering or other related field with twenty (20) years of related experience, or

  • Associate's Degree with twenty-four (24) years of experience, or

  • High School Diploma or GED with twenty-eight (28) years of experience.

  • Must be able to demonstrate effective oral, analytical, written, and communication skills.

  • Must have practical experience and be proficient in software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.

  • Must be willing to be on-call.

  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous WIPP experience preferred.
