Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking an
Deputy Underground Operations Manager to be based in our Carlsbad, New Mexico location.
The successful candidate will be responsible for daily safe and compliant underground operations in accordance with NWP core values and expectations. Establish, schedule and track operational priorities to support short and long range contract deliverables. Integrate multi-disciplined resources to address operational priorities. Interface with CBFO/DOE, DOE/EM, DNFSB, MSHA and NMED to address regulatory and oversight concerns. Responsible for Ground Control, Mining and Maintenance activities, while supporting Waste Handling and Waste Emplacement evolutions. The candidate will deliver presentations and represent WIPP in a public speaking forum.
Bachelor’s degree plus ten (10) years relevant experience, or
Associate’s degree plus fourteen (14) years relevant experience, or
High School Diploma or GED plus eighteen (18) years relevant experience.
Five (5) years of WIPP or other site DOE Nuclear Project Experience is required.
Experience with planning and scheduling both short and long term.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be able to qualify as Radworker 2 and enter Radiological contaminated areas.
Must possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.
Ten (10) years of Management/Supervisory experience preferred.
Operations Management experience is a plus.
Five (5) years of DOE Project experience is desired.
Experience in the WIPP mine or mining industry preferred.
Familiarity with MSHA requirements and conduct of Operations Fundamentals preferred.
Knowledge and experience in a variety of operations disciplines, a demonstrated capacity to manage conflicting priorities and schedules, proven customer relations skills, large organization leadership, and administering bargaining unit contract requirements.
