AECOM Environmental Impact Study Specialist, National or International PM in Calgary, Alberta

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an Environmental Impact Study Specialist, National or International Project Manager for immediate employment in one of our canadian office (Montréal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto or Ottawa)

The main responsibilities of this position include, among others:

  • Be responsible for carrying out environmental studies at national and international levels, mainly environmental and social impact studies, environmental and social management plans and action plans for resettlement, but also strategic environmental studies (EA) or sectoral environmental studies;

  • Coordinate and participate in all stages of a study or a project from planning to closing, encompassing client points of view, coordination of the project team, administrative monitoring of projects (compliance with budgets and schedule), organization of fieldwork, integration and drafting of deliverables;

  • Lead or participate in field inventories;

  • Contribute to applications for environmental permits and certificates of authorization;

  • Openness to other cultures, with developed interpersonal skills, an aptitude for advice, analysis, listening to clients and identifying needs;

  • Ensure the administrative follow-up of the projects (budget and schedule);

  • Maintain a bond of trust and effective relationships with clients within the framework of responsibilities;

  • Participate in the preparation of professional service offers;

  • Develop and provide training in environmental assessment for international projects;

  • All other duties related to the function.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the environment;

  • 2 years of experience conducting environmental impact studies in the public and private sectors and in different market segments (eg mining, energy, transport, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally 15+ years of experience conducting environmental impact studies in the public and private sectors and in different market segments (eg mining, energy, transport, etc.);

  • Relevant experience in the international field of 10 years +;

  • Mastery of international environmental and social standards, mainly those of IFC;

  • Excellent writing skills (language quality, analytical skills, rigor) and oral;

  • Solid experience in relations with clients and government authorities;

  • Demonstrated competence in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors;

  • Proven skills in project planning, in order to properly manage resources, time allocated and budget;

  • Highly developed sense of organization and great ability to solve problems;

  • Availability for short-term field work / mission abroad (Africa, South America and the Caribbean);

  • French / English bilingualism (spoken and written); Spanish (read, spoken mainly). Writing skills in French and English;

  • Knowledge of international tenders would be an asset.
