AECOM Water EIT in Burnaby, British Columbia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil/Environmental EIT to be based in Burnaby, BC.

This position is expected to begin in June/July.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending meetings with project management staff for the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant (NSWWTP) project

  • Keeping records at project meetings with regards to key decisions, project progress and ongoing issues

  • Tracking key design decisions that are made by project stakeholders

  • Communicating design decisions to the project team

  • Reviewing progress with discipline engineering staff and identifying gaps, delays, etc.

  • Providing updates on project progress to project management staff

  • Developing estimates for level of effort and schedule to complete project tasks along with discipline engineers

  • Reviewing contract documents and tracking conformance with these documents by relevant parties

  • Working with project schedulers to update the project delivery schedule on a regular basis

  • Reviewing project resource commitments and confirming alignment with the schedule and proposed level of effort

  • Reviewing cost control reports and comparing to committed project resources and the project schedule

  • Monthly reporting on project progress, key decisions, schedule adjustments, etc.

  • Communicating project issues, schedule performance, progress, etc. to senior members of the project team

  • On-site field reviews of construction progress

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering (or Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering) degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Capable of using a spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software

  • Capable with PDF manipulation, including the use of Bluebeam

  • Familiarity with Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud would be an asset

  • Able to register or Registered as EIT with EGBC.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and an outgoing personality

Additional Details:

This work is 100% on-site in the AECOM Burnaby office and the project site in the District of North Vancouver. There will be no opportunities to work remotely or from home unless there are exceptional circumstances for short term periods.
