Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Architect/Architect Technician for immediate employment in the Burnaby, BC office. Under the direction of senior level design staff and management, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Project management duties, overseeing teams and assisting with preparation of architectural design drawings, presentation drawings, renderings, and physical modeling
Application of REVIT, AutoCAD, SketchUp
Preparation of planning documents, conceptual and schematic designs, illustrations and graphics, construction details, construction documents, technical specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of public and private sector projects
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institute
5+ years of professional experience
Eligible for registration with AIBC
Demonstrated project and client management skills
Working with multi-discipline project delivery teams
Computer experience (Autocad, Word, Excel, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch up, etc.)
Ability to work with various Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process
Strong conceptual and technical design skills
Working knowledge of the BC Building Code and regulatory by-laws
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree
Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or SketchUp, or other related CADD software
Retail/commercial design related experience considered an asset Experience with three dimensional design, illustrations and graphic design
Client management expertise desirable and/or willingness to become a client lead
Support business development pursuits
Hand sketching an asset
