Position Title Entry Level Civil/Mechanical EIT

As a part of our continued growth, our Burnaby office has an outstanding opportunity for a Civil /Mechanical Engineer to assist in the delivery of major new wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations. We are seeking a candidate who is a registered Professional Engineer (or ready to be licensed as a P. Eng) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience related specifically to water wastewater infrastructure engineering and construction management.
You will have a successful track record in the design and construction phases of municipal wastewater treatment, pumping and conveyance infrastructure. You will work in a team environment with intermediate and senior engineers to deliver advanced wastewater treatment and large pumping station projects to our client base in British Columbia.
Responsible for design and construction phases of expansions or upgrades to wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants, as well as design of new wastewater infrastructure
Oversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budget
Responsible for regular project progress reports to the clients and AECOM Managers
Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery, technical and client challenges, determining technical objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for technical activities and applications
Stays abreast of industry standards and approaches, and implements best practices
Engage, hands-on, in the technical execution of client assignments through to successful project completion
Preparation of technical memoranda, planning studies and design reports
Ensure project work is undertaken is accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems
Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or other related field required
Introductory background in basic civil engineering principles in a variety of civil engineering disciplines
Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
Some knowledge of engineering requirements of municipal infrastructure
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is an asset
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of successfully delivering multi-discipline projects;
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Strategic, analytical and practical thinker;
Project Management experience in the engineering consulting industry delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects is a benefit
Construction and field experience
Hydraulic and process design experience
