Job Description

AECOM is searching for a a Cyber-Security Professional to be based out of our Burnaby, BC office.

Job responsibilities expected of this job but not limited to:

  • Review, assess, and develop cyber-security program in public rail transit systems, in compliance with international standards, such as NIST, APTA and CENELEC.

  • Develop cybersecurity program work plans, perform cybersecurity threat and vulnerability risk assessment, developing risk profiles and proposing security enhancement features and guidelines, for public transit systems, and other infrastructure projects, in compliance with industry standards.

  • Coordinate and integrate the cyber-security requirements, challenges, and solutions with other similar programs, such as physical security, and public safety programs developed by other interfacing organizations and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with clients and different stakeholders to collect evidence, track, and close vulnerabilities, as well as provide support for system design requirement change management process.

  • Support chief security officer in day-to-day management of the physical security program and presenting the security program findings and assessments to various stakeholders.

  • Train and coach junior staff, who are engaged in the security program.

  • In addition to performing a key role in developing the cyber-security program for transit projects, the candidate needs to provide support to other system assurance projects, related to safety review and audit.

  • The position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, the applicant may be required to work from client sites and offices across Canada.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's + 2 years of work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Having at least two valid cybersecurity certificates (CISSP and either CISM, or CISA).

Preferred:

  • Experience in at least two of the following three areas:

  • IT/OT cybersecurity testing and audit

  • IT/OT networks cybersecurity (upgrades and/or replacement projects)

  • Telecommunication systems operations cybersecurity (optimization and/or upgrades)

  • Having experience of developing, assessing, or auditing cybersecurity of public transit facilities (SCADA or train CBTC signalling systems).

  • Familiarity with International Standards and European Norms cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443 and CLC/TS 50701)

  • Familiarity with the concept of risk management in engineering (ISO 31000)

  • Familiarity with international information security standards (ISO 27001)

  • Familiarity with international quality systems standards (ISO 9001)

  • Being a critical thinker, analytical, and problem solver, with ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively communicate and interact with a variety of clients with different levels of technical backgrounds.

  • Being able to receive security clearance from the Government of Canada.

  • Having a valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to project sites across Ontario.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $105,000.00.
