AECOM Aviation Intern Architect/Designer in Burnaby, British Columbia

Job Summary

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Work closely with the Project Lead through the design process, and take ownership of the production of documents required for client approvals, and for achieving project milestones

Carry out architectural design work to comply with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes

Work within a team environment, and in close collaboration with the Project Lead

Assist in defining project requirements, and work towards developing architectural details, standards and specifications

Working with various disciplines to effectively coordinate the project deliverables and collaborate with internal QA/QC process

Assist in Construction administration process

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Architecture + 2+ years of professional experience in larger, more complex buildings: transportation, commercial, institutional, industrial, etc. + Technical Diploma + 4 years of relevant experience

Minimum 1 year experience using Revit

Preferred Qualifications

Newly registered Architect AIBC, or AIBC Intern Architect status an asset

Working within multi-discipline project delivery teams

Computer software experience (Revit, Autocad, Word, Excel, InDesign, Photoshop, Sketch up, etc.)

Preparation of Architectural and design documents, including planning documents, conceptual and schematic designs, illustrations and graphics, construction details, construction documents, technical specifications for a wide variety of public and private sector projects

Ability to work with municipalities to determine requirements for permitting and development approvals process, and working towards developing the documents

Strong conceptual and technical design skills

Working knowledge of the BC Building Code and regulatory by-laws

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Team player

Past experience of Airport Terminal design considered an asset.
