Job Summary

The Environmental Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, motivated Engineering Intern for employment in June 2018 in the Buffalo, New York office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be considered for an entry level position in the environmental and civil engineering field.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide reliable, flexible engineering services in the field and office

  • Perform field sampling and other tasks at a variety of sites including hazardous waste sites

  • Perform engineering design and supporting calculations

  • Prepare Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS)

  • Conduct research including obtaining vendor quotes to develop detailed cost estimates

  • Prepare detailed project schedules using Microsoft office

  • Prepare cost estimates using existing databases

  • Provide field sketches and coordinate with GIS and CAD staff to develop figures and drawings

  • Research innovative remediation technologies and evaluate their suitability to existing projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled at an accredited university for a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering

  • Microsoft Office (word, excel, project, powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat

  • Due to the nature of this position US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant experience with engineering design, cost estimating, specification writing and CADD

  • A university student that has more than one year of school remaining before earning a degree preferred, these students typically are Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors in university. Successful Interns may be eligible to return for additional internships.
