AECOM CAD Drafter/Technician in Buffalo, New York

Job Summary

The CAD department of AECOM is actively seeking a talented, highly motivated CADD drafter for immediate employment in the Buffalo, NY office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation (ver. V8i or higher) and a willingness to work with a multidisciplinary team. The applicant can look forward to projects in the disciplines of environment, facilities, structures, catenary, rail, and survey, working on our private and municipal projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Create basic details

  • Prepare drawings from sketches supplied by engineers and scientists

  • Preparation of exhibits, sketches and other documents utilized in reports and presentations

  • Assist other teams members with preparation and assembly of design drawing sets

  • Remain current with emerging technologies

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Ability to create neat and accurate technical drawings

  • Basic drafting knowledge

  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD civil site work

  • Good use of English, both written and oral

  • Good inter-personal skills

  • To be a team player

  • To be reliable, practical, self-motivated and willing to learn

  • Understand importance of accuracy and high quality presentation

  • An ability to work effectively as part of project teams under direction of CAD manager

  • Communicates effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree

  • Drafting background

  • Knowledgeable in Microstation (ver. V8i or higher)

  • Experience with Inroads

  • Revit experience

  • Experience with 3D files

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, outlook, etc.)
