Our Transportation Group currently has a vacancy for a Highways/ Traffic Engineers within our Roads Team in a potential project office in Gloucester to support our local delivery.
You will have achieved, or close to achieving, Chartered status and will have an excellent grounding in highways/ traffic engineering design and has excellent project management experience. You will have significant experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary project team developing designs for multi modal or mode specific engineering schemes, highway maintenance and road safety schemes. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic national team in a new location.
Project Manage infrastructure projects from inception through to hand over
Prepare fee proposals and task orders
Undertake highway/traffic engineering projects from feasibility to detailed design
Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief
Manage sub-consultants to produce deliverables against agreed timescales and in line with budget
Sharing knowledge and supporting team to create a collaborative work environment.
Day to day client point of contact for projects
Highly Familiar with relevant Health and Safety regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team.
Following successful accreditation on the AECOM project management system act as a Project Manager including monitoring financial performance. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided.
Attend and chair project progress meetings as and when required
Experience of public/private sector
Excellent knowledge of emerging best practices in transport, traffic, highway and urban design
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
Experience of applying the principles of DMRB, the Traffic Signs Manual and MX Design for urban and rural situations
HND, BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject
Demonstrate experience and knowledge of developing feasibility, preliminary and detailed design schemes
Experience of working in another comparable consultancy or local authority environment at this level
Knowledge of local and national design standards
