AECOM is currently seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be based in Bristol. You will be in charge of mechanical projects which you will project manage and lead. You will be involved in design and specifications, business development, the running of operations, people management and you will act as a key point of contact within the business.

Our Building & Places division provides a multidisciplinary offering consisting of a variety of consultancy services ranging from Civil, Structural, MEP and Environmental Engineering, Cost & project Management and Quantity Surveying.

You will be an established Principle Mechanical Engineer who has developed from a Senior Engineer and is chartered. You will have experience with similar consultancies or other relevant experience as a project lead that translates well to our working style.
Design and Specification creation
Carry out design and specification of mechanical building services systems for construction projects.
Be a point of contact and decision maker
Liaise with internal and external design teams
Liaise directly with clients
Assist the Associate Director with their team management responsibilities.
Ensure effective communication of business issues to all staff reporting to you.
Report writing and on-site Inspections
Carry out site inspections and reporting during construction phase of projects.
Work to all relevant AECOM and external standards
Sign off work from junior engineers
You will effectively control commercial, managerial and technical aspects of the project.
Implement the Company's strategy relating to customers with regard to gaining repeat business, and be aware of marketing opportunities and the capability of the business as a whole
You will have experience of the design and specification of building services systems, ideally in a consultancy role
You are a good communicator with good team working ability, and you will have experience of the management of junior staff and quality sign off
You will be in charge of the financial and resourcing elements of project control and should be self-motivated and willing to learn and develop
Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
A degree in a relevant engineering discipline which is accredited by CIBSE and/or IMechE. S
You will be a Chartered Engineer or you will be working towards Chartered Engineer status
