The incumbent can look forward to projects including:
New building design and analysis for a variety of building types, including Federal, DOD, Commercial, and Transportation
Structural analysis and evaluation of existing structures
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications
Perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
Complete assignments requiring the investigation of a number of variables
Performs structural analysis and design, detailing
Assist with investigations, developing plans and specifications
May supervise BIM operators
Complete design checking of calculations and construction shop drawing reviews
Respond to contractor RFI
Perform regular field observations and write field reports
Perform quality control and quality assurance review tasks
Travel to project sites for meetings and construction inspections
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
5+ years of related experience
Experience in the analysis and design of various types of buildings, below-ground structures and other infrastructure
Familiar with current design codes and manuals (IBC2009/2012, ASCE 7, ACI-318, AISC Design Manual, etc)
Familiar with Revit Structural, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc. or similar analysis and design software
Ability to work as part of team to deliver a quality product and exceed clients’ expectations
Licensed and/or registered as a Professional Engineer
