Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Interior Designer for immediate employment in our Boston office. AECOM’s Buildings + Places business line is dedicated to design excellence and integrated solutions with expertise including architecture, interiors, engineering, development, workplace strategy, economic planning, master planning, project management and construction services. Our B+P Boston studio provides industry leading design projects in corporate, commercial, transportation, government, research and technology markets. AECOM projects include the World Trade Center, New York; Mercedes Benz Stadium, Atlanta; and corporate-commercial projects throughout Europe, Asia and the America’s ranging from corporate headquarters to commercial office towers.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Maintain line of communication and collaborative working relationship with leadership

  • Assist with presentation materials including renderings, material palette, 3D visualizations

  • Mentor and coach staff for growth

  • Assist with maintaining resource library vendor contacts and relevant content with staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 4+ years of related interior design project experience or demonstrated equivalency of education/experience

  • Demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project types

  • Experience with all project phases including pre-design through construction administration

  • Working knowledge of contract interiors FF+E market including manufacturers and dealers

  • Experience documenting FF+E specifications including budget and procurement administration

  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures

  • Self-starter with capability to work on multiple project teams and complex team structures

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up or other 3D modeling software

  • LEED Accreditation required within 12 months of employment

  • Ability to accommodate some regional domestic travel (valid driver’s license may be required)

  • Ability to communicate design through appropriate media to client and tea

Preferred Qualifications

  • Corporate interior experience (all phases) including large projects (150,000 SF+) in NE region

  • Strong planning and programming ability preferred

  • RA, NCIDQ or CID preferred
