AECOM is seeking a 3 rd shift Production Maintenance Mechanic II for our industrial operations & maintenance team in Prentis, MS! Typical work schedule is Sunday - Thursday, 10:00pm – 6:30am; hours may vary based on business demand.
This position will have the opportunity to assist and job shadow senior technicians, improving job skill and industry exposure while performing preventive and corrective maintenance on all production related industrial systems, such as CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor and coolant systems.
May also work on a wide variety of facility related equipment, such as lighting systems, HVAC, pumps and motors, etc. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: inspections, lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, and associated maintenance tasks.
Assists co-workers in diagnosing malfunctions in process / production machines, equipment and related electrical equipment, such as electrical control circuits from 24v up to and including 480v AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
Assists the team with maintaining, operating and troubleshooting facility equipment and systems such as lighting, motors, motor control centers, disconnects, pumps, overhead cranes, gas analyzers, cooling towers etc.
Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
Performs basic plumbing repairs.
Performs preventive maintenance on electrical systems, controls, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
Demonstrates flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Two years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Associate’s degree or technical certification in industrial mechanical, HVAC/R, manufacturing technology, or a related technical program.
Strong mechanical skills, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to facility and production related mechanical equipment.
Basic understanding of electricity.
Experience with heating equipment properties, sufficient to assist with and perform preventive maintenance and repairs to HVAC equipment.
Knowledge of basic refrigeration theory.
Knowledge of EPA guidelines.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
