The Support Assistant is responsible for technical support with respect to procurement and the materials management function to include sourcing, purchasing, subcontracting, expediting, logistics, and material controls.
Exposed to various analytical requirements and begins to formulate a basic understanding of materials management concepts and principles.
Performs support activities in one or more functional areas of Materials management.
Exposed to basic procurement and materials management concepts and their application.
Exposed to the relationship with engineering, construction, project controls, and estimating
Performs data input for cornerstone applications.
Prepares and maintains auditable records of the procurement and materials management process and coordinate with dock-master regarding receiving requirements and processes.
Prepares, issues and maintains reports.
Submit and process orders to suppliers and subcontractors utilizing a credit card (P-card) and creating credit card reconciliation reports at the end of each month. Submit purchase request to procurement system.
Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Assists with gathering information from the accounting system for tracking payments.
Prepares, compiles, maintains, and communicates information and auditable records for an efficient materials management process.
Performs data input function for cornerstone applications.
Prepares, issues, and maintains logs, tracking reports, trip reports, notices, and other correspondence necessary for documenting supplier schedules, progress, forecasts, actions required, and all contacts with the suppliers and sub-suppliers.
Administers materials management documentation to ensure timely completion and client and/or government compliance.
Assists as needed with damage inspections, filing and processing of loss and damage claims, and negotiation of resolutions.
Keeps materials management advised of significant issues and potential problem areas.
Prepares invoices for approval (signature) for payment.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials management
Associates Degree or technical diploma may substitute for 2 years of experience
Experience in one or more of the areas of purchasing, expediting and logistics desirable
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance with polygraph credentials
