We are looking for a Part Time Sustainability Consultant. team member to join our Commercial Sustainable Buildings Team in Basingstoke. This position would suit a local person that has an interest in development and sustainability with experience or transferable communication and administrative skills.

The team works on projects that make a real difference and consider sustainability in a holistic way. We provide advice and guidance for large and varied market projects from the pre-acquisition stage, through pre-apps, detailed design, planning, determination, technical design and construction. The team members find this provides a great deal of job satisfaction as the benefits of the work are quickly realised.

The team ethos is one of customer service and working in a friendly dynamic manner which results in long term relationships with the clients and many projects as well as good career paths for the team members. On occasions there are peaks and troughs in workloads caused by people on holiday, off sick, moving client timeframes, training or due to particularly large planning applications or new work which has been secured. The team pull together to continue to provide the level of service and standard of work our clients expect.

Full on the job training will be provided to enable to the person to:

  • communicate with and enthuse client team members to provide information

  • review planning policies and specific site requirements;

  • produce calculations for Home Quality Mark and BREEAM credits;

  • produce paragraphs for bespoke reports;

  • reviewing and extracting information from drawings and specifications;

  • check information against set criteria;

  • research appropriate technical solutions;

  • in time undertake site visits; and

  • assist team members with delivery of assessments and reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work as part of a team;

  • Ability to check own work and ensure it is accurate;

  • Good communication and liaison skills to build long lasting relationships with client teams; and

  • Long term desire to be based in Basingstoke.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A level standard but aptitude, and potentially relevant experience, is more important than qualifications.

The salary for this role is between £22,000 - £26,000 for a full time position, part time salaries will be pro rata of the pre-mentioned salary.
