AECOM GIS/Database Analyst in Baltimore, Maryland

Job Summary

The Water Business Line of AECOM is seeking a creative, motivated and highly talented GIS Coordinator for immediate employment in Baltimore, Maryland. This position will provide GIS data & database support services and coordinate activities in support of water/wastewater utilities.

Responsibilities for this position may include the following:

  • Create, manage, validate, edit and maintain various types of GIS data, including spatial databases

  • Support enterprise GIS databases and services

  • Manage GIS staff and provide training support, as necessary

  • Manage and coordinate GIS-focused tasks and initiatives

  • Perform QA/QC review of GIS data and compile metadata

  • Digitize, scan and georeference maps, engineering drawings and imagery

  • Develop tools and workflows to automate and streamline mapping, data management and geoprocessing tasks

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS or related field

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the GIS field

  • Proficiency with the Esri ArcGIS platform, including the ArcGIS Desktop suite (Version 10x) and extensions

  • Experience creating, managing, editing and manipulating spatial data in various formats, and working with spatial and non-spatial databases

  • Strong data quality assurance, validation and documentation knowledge

  • Ability and willingness to multi-task and work on many different projects simultaneously in a team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Cityworks asset management software

  • Experience in supporting water/wastewater utility GIS and asset management programs
