AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE contract for an Lead- HVAC Mechanic . The Lead performs troubleshooting, installation, repairs and refills FSS system on a wide range of Military equipment.Performs HVAC troubleshooting, recovery, recharge, and installation as required. Performs mechanical troubleshooting and repair work on a wide range of Military equipment.Performs refilling of FM-200, Mono-ammonium-Phosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, and Petrotech 25 fire extinguishing agents.Responsible for implementing and maintaining the shop safety program as well as providing daily work assignments to other maintenance personnel assigned to work center.Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures.Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality ManagementSystem. Responsible for Maintaining required FSS shop tools and Equipment, to include submitting Purchase request
for replacement items. Responsible for maintaining TMDE and Calibrated items, Coordinating Calibrations with the TMDE office.
Responsible for work order, parts and document research using Global Combat Support System – Army(GCSS-A), IGC, FedMall, LIW and WEBVLIPs. Required to gain access to GCSS-A, and LIW. Must be able to navigate GCSS-A to check Equipment Status Report and research Material numbers.Performs other duties as assigned
NACI / Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens
Must be able to obtain USG GCSS-Army Certification within 90 days.
Must be able to pass the Inspector and Technician PQS within 30 days of hire.
EPA 609 certification in vehicle HVAC recovery, recharge and installation or equivalent, is required.
EPA 608 certification in commercial HVAC recovery, recharge and installation, EXPAT only.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may
be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of
college and vice versa.
3-5 years of FSS and/or HVAC experience.
Must have a basic understanding of HAZMAT and OSHA procedures.
Must have experience with FSS/HVAC use of job specific tools.
Responsible for rebuilding, inspecting, and testing the serviceability of certain fire extinguisher components
by the technical specifications given by the manufacturer.
Proficient in the proper handling of hazardous materials such as, heptafluoropropane (FM-200), Monoammonium-
phosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Petrotech 25, and dry nitrogen.
Must be GCSS-Army Certified as Maintenance Manager/Supervisor role and use it accordingly.
- Experience with fire suppression systems, preferred.
