AECOM Sr. Traffic Engineer in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer in Austin, Texas. Job responsibilities include:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience conducting traffic studies and IAJRs

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required

  • Registered PE in Texas is a requirement, or ability to obtain licensure in 6 months

  • Strong understanding of FHWA IAJR guidelines/requirements

  • Strong understanding of traffic modeling techniques and micro-simulation software, including Synchro and Vissim

  • Understanding of macrosimulation and travel demand modeling techniques and software

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage subconsultant teams

  • Ability to lead tasks and direct younger staff

  • Work in a collaborative manner. Serves on a project team.

  • Willingness to cross train and learn other disciplines

  • Exercises quality control procedures

  • TxDOT project experience preferred
