AECOM and the Process Technologies Organization (Austin, Texas) are seeking a Senior Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to support of the development, design and evaluation/optimization of fluid flow processes associated with the Power, Heavy Industrial, Oil and Gas, and other related industries This position is client facing, and a successful candidate will be professional, self-motivated, innovative, and energetic with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. An important aspect of this position is contributing to the growth of not only CFD-related projects, but also detailed design projects that implement CFD-derived solutions. An ability to maintain CFD servers, CFD software, and Linux workstations is a plus.

Typical projects are throughout North America and Europe, can range in value from $10,000 to $150,000,000, and can encompass all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement and construction. CFD engineering tasks are typically $25-100k. The CFD Engineer works under the direction of the Process Development and Consulting Manager. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working with internal and external clients to define CFD engineering scope and information needs,
Completing site visits to assess options to explore through CFD engineering,
Contributing to engineered solutions to evaluate, including exploring various options based upon informed engineering principles
Building CFD model geometry and mesh (requires the review and analysis of construction drawings),
Executing engineered CFD runs and applying engineering principles and statistics to analyze results,
Preparing a CFD report that conveys results and design recommendations to internal/external clients who may or may not be familiar with CFD,
Contributing technical content to marketing endeavors to grow and develop business
Preparation and presentation of technical papers and presentations to clients as well as at local and national conferences, and
Interaction with internal and external clients to promote CFD.
BA/BS + 10 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Extensice CFD modeling experience.
Experience in Power, Heavy Industrial, Oil and Gas, and other related industries
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and a process engineering background
Proficiency in MS Office suite, 3D CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SpaceClaim or Inventor), and ANSYS CFX/Fluent CFD software
