AECOM Senior Transit Engineer in Austin, Texas

The Sr. Transit Engineer in the Austin Office is a key position and will report to the Central Region Transit Engineering Department Manager. The position includes responsibility for business development, management of transportation planning studies, preliminary design studies and final design of transportation/transit improvement projects. Clients include Capital Metro, Texas Department of Transportation as well as counties, municipalities, and regional planning agencies. The successful candidate may be asked to serve as an AECOM team leader, project manager and/or technical task leader on selected projects and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others in the AECOM Central Region.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
- BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
10+ years of relevant experience
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
Texas PE license or the ability to obtain a Texas PE license
Previous Project Management experience
