Position Title Electrical Engineer

The Industrial, Power, Oil & Gas business unit of AECOM in Austin, Texas, is seeking a mid-level electrical engineer to function as part of a multi-discipline engineering project team to deliver design packages and technical work on assigned projects. The successful candidate will perform design and analysis of electrical and controls equipment in support of projects across multiple industries, including Power, Industrial and Oil and Gas. The successful candidate will be accountable for the completion of assignments to the high standards of AECOM and the Client within budget and schedule. Typical projects can range in value from $100,000 to $50,000,000 and encompass all project phases, including engineering, procurement and construction.
The successful candidate will:
Perform design calculations and standard computations including but not limited to power system analysis and electrical equipment sizing.
Provide engineering support for the preparation of design drawings to be used for construction.
Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment.
Support the development of the following:
Cable and Conduit Schedules
Construction drawing/specification packages to be released to clients and contractors for the purpose of either preparing construction bids or executing construction
Execute projects under the direction of a project manager and a project engineer along with the support of other experienced licensed professional engineers.
Collaborate with other engineers and designers on all aspects of assignments.
Perform assignments and tasks that require the application of standard engineering practices, techniques, and criteria.
Travel periodically to project sites and equipment vendor manufacturing facilities to assess existing site conditions, support procurement, and support construction.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
10 years' experience in Electrical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) License by exam.
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software such as ETAP.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Prior experience working in the Power industry preferred
