AECOM is expanding its dynamic and innovative transport advisory team in Auckland and are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Traffic Engineer at a Principal level to provide specialist technical delivery to our clients. In joining our market leading team you will contribute to some of the largest projects in New Zealand and provide our range of clients with innovative and market leading solutions.
As a Principal Traffic Engineer with AECOM your day to day work will involve:
Developing intersection and traffic signal layouts
Leading junior team members
Ability to work within a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment with strong communication skills.
Actively participate in business and strategic planning activities in order to identify opportunities to sustain the growth of the business in short, medium and longer term.
Develop and maintain relationships with external parties to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for AECOM from these relationships.
Provide high quality technical advice to clients that meets their needs
Project management activities will include seeking opportunities from clients, submitting proposals and technical leadership for civil infrastructure projects.
Create high performing, motivated and engaged teams via Performance Planning, Performance Management, appropriate Reward and Recognition, learning and development opportunities.
Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a similar role
Good technical skills, knowledge and experience in transport planning and transport/ traffic modelling and traffic engineering
Understanding of theory of engineering principles regarding design and road safety and its application in a range of scenarios analyse real world problems
Experience in intersection/ public domain and traffic management design.
Understanding of traffic signal operation and design, include intersection modelling and NZ Traffic Control Signal standards
A strong understanding of NZ road design standards, guidelines and practices
Experience in working in successful project teams
- Undergraduate Degree in related discipline is essential; Postgraduate qualifications are desirable as are other relevant professional training courses
