Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Drainage Engineer – Surface Transportation for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

This position requires experience in drainage and MS4 design and will be responsible for assisting the team in the development of GDOT MS4 program.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing training presentations/programs

  • Instructing various stormwater related topics across the state

  • Developing post-construction stormwater management policy

  • Designing post-construction stormwater BMPs for roadway and highway projects

  • Staying current on post-construction stormwater research

  • Understanding the interaction between all disciplines within the transportation team, design and preparation of erosion control, hydrology, drainage design, post-construction stormwater management, and construction plans and reports

  • Performing field work / inspections of post-construction stormwater BMPs

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in water resources, road, and highway design

  • Experience in Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)

  • Excellent communication and writing skills (comfortable with preparing and giving presentations)

  • Understanding of state/local stormwater requirements and guidelines

  • Ability to convey thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise manner

  • Ability to organize data in an efficient and clear manner

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Georgia PE or willing to obtain within 12 months

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Civil Engineering
