Job Summary

The Global Aviation Business Line is actively seeking a highly talented Aviation Director Business Development for immediate employment with flexible locations in the United States. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the aviation transportation industry and have a successful track record of major airport and aviation program management. The applicant will have extensive experience in marketing, developing, designing, managing and/or constructing aviation projects. The position will work in a matrix organization, with local transportation and operations staff, regional leadership, and national transportation business line executives to assist in winning and delivering new AECOM work with major global aviation components.

This position requires candidate to be an industry leader recognized by key aviation contractors and owners. The position will provide strategic plan and delivery on key client and program success; has broad program management impact. Prepares and delivers presentations on behalf and in support of the client’s program. Interacts with executive level government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

  • Effectively communicate with the public and with clients’ technical staff, management and governing boards

  • Work collaboratively with AECOM Transportation leadership team to ensure resources throughout the Aviation Market Sector are being utilized on projects and pursuits

  • Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key officials of other organizations

  • Work with colleagues to deliver intelligent solutions that ensure quality project delivery

  • Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing client relationships and establish new relationships; obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market drivers

  • Maintain a high National and Global profile

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years progressive experience in design, construction and project management of aviation programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage and collaborate across geographically dispersed teams

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 20+ years progressive experience in design, construction and project management of aviation programs

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
