Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an HR Director for Environment/Water business lines. The HR Director will be responsible for working directly with assigned leader(s) on all aspects of Business Operations and Growth. As the HR Director, he/she will be a key member of the Design and Consulting Services Americas HR and Environment/Water Business Teams and may manage a team of HR Business Leaders across the US. This position can be located anywhere in the US. Travel will be required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Implement HR programs & Initiatives

  • Drive culture change agenda through Core Values in BU/Geo/BL

  • In partnership with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence, effectively implements programs for Compensation, Employee Engagement Survey, Diversity & Inclusion, and Shared Services, to name a few.Strategic Hiring

  • Work with HR management team to recommend human resources objectives that promote a higher level of morale, increases employee engagement, fosters employee retention of “A” players, and drives improved productivity consistent with growth and profit objectives.Retention Strategies

  • Develop strategies to enhance attraction and retention of key talent.

  • Develop and manage innovative programs to build capability and ensure that the organization is developing, growing, and retaining talent. Coaching business leaders in the delivery of results through talent and engagement

Diversity and Inclusion

  • Develop actionable roadmap and execution plan for D & I strategy.

  • Develop strategies with talent management with a focus on building leadership accountability for our D & I program.

  • Develops and implement diversity initiatives to ensure all employee development, talent assessment and engagement activities link to our commitment of a diverse workforce.Learning & Talent Management Initiatives

  • Work closely with Human Resources and Operations to create models to understand the current and future talent needs of the company.

  • Assist with creating programs to support and develop talent development and empower team members to provide job and learning experiences needed to develop our talent.

  • Strategize with the Company’s business leaders and our HR professionals to design and enhance talent learning, development and performance management programs, and oversees the delivery of these initiatives as well as supporting initiatives to become “a great place to work” company and a leader in employee engagement.Workforce Planning

  • Understand existing workforce, and work with operations to anticipate programs wins and losses.

  • Establish realistic goals in pursuit of furthering the organization's strategic plans, programs and practices.Change Management

  • Work with the other HR Business Partners by providing practical guidance on methodology, tools, and implementation in areas such as organization assessments, process re-engineering, and change management.

  • Develop actionable, targeted change management plans that include communications, training and resistance management.

  • Consult and advise managers on organization development and change management needs along with teaming with Regional HR Directors.

  • Leader Onboarding

Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in an HR leadership role

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required

  • Have previous experience in a mid to large publicly traded organization

  • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities, lean 6 sigma principles, excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical skills and excellent judgment

  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to multi-task with a developed sense of urgency and follow-through

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters preferred or postgraduate continuing education

  • Certification in relevant HR area preferred
