AECOM Georgia Commute Options Project Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a proven project management professional to lead the team responsible for outreach and public education for the Georgia Commute Options (GCO) program. GCO is managed by the Atlanta Regional Commission and funded through the Georgia Department of Transportation. The program works with employers, commuters and schools to reduce the number of single-occupant vehicles on Metro Atlanta’s roads. GCO provides free services to motivate more people to choose clean commute alternatives and get rewarded in the process. The AECOM outreach team is specifically responsible for developing community relationships and maintaining a network of employer partners that implement worksite-based commute options programs.

Additional Job Description :

The GCO Project Manager is accountable for the successful and thorough completion of contractual deliverables for the GCO Education and Outreach project. You will lead the 16-person outreach team promoting commute options to individuals and large employer organizations in the 20-county Atlanta region. You will ensure that the team has the tools and support necessary to effectively engage employer partners and commuter participants in GCO programs and services. You will serve as the day-to-day contact for the client on this project and the primary point of contact responsible for the program.

Description:

Performs a range of project and team management tasks resulting in the successful completion of the activities and deliverables as detailed in the project scope of work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Exceed client expectations by effectively delivering the GCO project on time and within budget

  • Maintaining positive and effective communications with the client, stakeholders, the project team, and AECOM management

  • Timely and accurate project reporting and conveyance of deliverables to the client including monthly reports and quarterly/annual review meetings

  • Maintain a highly trained project staff through effective hiring, training, and professional development

  • Directly participate in outreach efforts spending approximately 50% of time in the field with staff to guide networking opportunities, staff development, and increase the overall effectiveness of worksite-based program development

  • Establish individual staff goals and monitor performance making adjustments and corrective action when necessary

  • Direct and approve the use of staff resources to deliver services that align with the regional approach detailed in the TDM Sales Guide; determine whether partnerships and outreach activities are compliant with the guidance and assist staff with identifying opportunities for ‘deep dives’ and trip reduction efforts to yield desired results

  • Guide data collection through the effective use of the regional CRM (Salesforce) and survey tools along with incentive program administration; develop and document standard operating procedures where necessary

  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of regional modal promotions and special events

  • Oversee the on-going development and implementation of the GCO Schools program

  • Manage sub-consultant relationships; coordinate work scopes, project delivery and oversight

  • Identify opportunities for enhanced project delivery and supplemental services utilizing best practices and AECOM’s network of diverse and specialized services

  • Recommend enhancements; seek opportunities for continual program innovations that incorporate national best practices and emerging technologies

  • Represent GCO in regional stakeholder and advisory groups as requested

Knowledge

  • Comprehensive project management experience

  • Ability to:

  • manage and mentor a diverse outreach team; excels at identifying and capitalizing on individual strengths and connecting resources

  • achieve objectives through teamwork

  • track and manage performance through a CRM tool; experience with Salesforce preferred

  • Experience:

  • managing complex client and stakeholder relations

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, communication, or related field

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional project and/or team management experience; and/or combined post-graduate/professional experience in outreach, sales, and/or marketing

  • Experience building, training and managing a professional team

  • TDM/transportation /planning outreach program experience favored

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master of Business Administration or equivalent work experience
