AECOM Transportation is seeking staff to support its growing forecasting practice within the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The individual must have a passion for transportation planning, working in a team-environment and desire to apply innovative approaches to forecasting, planning, and modeling. He or she will also support project management and task leaders in executing task orders, completing technical work, and meeting project milestones for our practice’s portfolio of ongoing assignments. The consultant will report to the Travel Demand Forecasting practice group leader.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Travel demand model design, development, calibration, and application
Data development and application of dynamic traffic assignment and regional simulation models
Implementation support for activity-based demand models
Travel survey design, processing, and analysis
Travel network/service coding
Project evaluation for Alternatives Analysis/DEIS and major investment studies
Report writing and presentation of findings
Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, applied mathematics or equivalent
2+ years of experience
Experience with one or more of the following software packages: CUBE/TP+, TRANSCAD, EMME/2, VISUM, TRANSIMS, DynusT, DaySim, and/or CTRamp
Experience with ARCVIEW, MS EXCEL, MS ACCESS and SPSS or SAS
Excellent problem-solving skills
Solid foundation in travel demand analysis and forecasting principles
Excellent oral/written communications skills
Master's degree in engineering, planning, applied mathematics or equivalent
