Position Title Scientist I, Geology

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Scientist I, Geology for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Primarily responsible for supporting our Conceptual Site Modelling practice
Assists with field work (e.g., groundwater sampling)
Compiles and evaluates site-related geological, geophysical, hydrogeologic and environmental data
Prepares detailed geologic cross sections and reports
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Geology including coursework in stratigraphy and/or practical application in stratigraphy and stratigraphic data interpretation
Coursework and/or experience involving the preparation of detailed geologic/hydrogeologic conceptual site models using sequence stratigraphy is required
Knowledge/experience in stratigraphic data interpretation
Ability to develop detailed geologic cross sections using sequence stratigraphic interpretations
Experience (through coursework and/or project experience) developing detailed geologic cross sections using sequence stratigraphic interpretations
Must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors
Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative
Excellent skills in written and spoken communication, organization, time management, and an individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment
Candidates must be comfortable with field work and assignments that require periodic travel
Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports is essential
Must possess a valid Driver's license
Master's degree in Geology with an emphasis in stratigraphy
Experience with specialized software (e.g., Rockworks, EVS, ModFlow, CADD, GIS) and building complex databases
