Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented QA/QC Mechanical Inspector for a project in the Laurel, MD area. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

  • Works under immediate supervision.

  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.

  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

  • Tracks quality assurance progress.

  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

  • Entry-level position, previous experience may not be required.

Minimum Requirements

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. Performs field inspections and/or audit duties and maintains inspection records. Ensures all contract documents represented by working drawings and specifications are properly executed.

  • Interpret plans, specifications, and codes, and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with them.

  • Field checks installation and location of electro mechanical equipment, HVAC installations, duct, conduit, cable, panels and other components being installed. Assures compliance with approved submittals.

  • Verifies equipment settings, alignment and testing requirements.

  • Monitor construction site for safety violations. Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards.

  • Maintains daily activity logs and reports.

  • Monitor contractors testing activities.

  • Provides general inspection on all construction and subcontractor work to assure a safe and workmanlike operation.

  • Meets construction management operational standards by contributing to strategic plans and forward thinking.

  • Works with the client, client representatives, staff and management in a collaborative manner within a context of good human relations.

  • Works with client and Contractors to find areas of opportunity to improve project and milestone schedule.

Must Have Skills/Experience (Including any required Certifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

  • 10+ years' experience in the construction field. Knowledge of construction management, scheduling, estimating and client management.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with client administrative managers and contractors

  • Knowledge of engineering and project principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations.

  • Expert in: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Valid driver’s license required

Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
