AECOM Graphic Designer in Arlington - VA, Virginia

Job Summary

The Buildings and Places practice of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, energetic, and talented Graphic Designer in the Arlington, VA office. This position will require the ability to develop a range of graphic outputs to communicate concepts and ideas and the ability to produce reports, presentations, and other deliverables from concept layout to final.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Applies creativity and originality in designing and preparing a range of end products including reports, brochures, presentations, graphics and other media to support the planning and design profession.

  • Creates and produces creative and quality graphic design artwork.

  • Assists in the selection of techniques best suited to produce desired visual effects in conformance with specified quality standards.

  • Generates, converts and/or modifies complex images to communicate desired message to the target audience.

  • Understands general concept of costs, process control, quality of product and scheduling.

  • Coordinates across teams to identify appropriate graphic design resources that to support workload.

  • Ensures that projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.

  • Provides guidance and training to design and/or production personnel.

  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, graphics standards and templates, and improved processes and workflow systems.

  • Serves as a consultant to departments, groups and subsidiaries.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 4 year degree in graphic design or similar field

  • Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience

  • Previous graphics or other professional experience related to urban planning, design, landscape architecture and/or urban economics strongly encouraged

  • Competent in the use of graphics software, including Illustrator and Adobe InDesign

  • Can perform well with moderate to limited oversight
