AECOM Communications Manager in Arlington - VA, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Communications Manager for employment in Dahlgren, VA. Plays a key role in managing a team of communications specialists to execute public affairs, visual information, and multimedia tasks in support of Corporate Communications for the Code 103 Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.

Job function include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and support the employee communication programs and products, media relations programs, community relations, special events, and provide photography support.

  • Oversee and manage the communication programs via Newport Enterprise Realtime Development Server (NERDS), Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium, Microsoft Office Professional, AVS Video Converter, and Snagit10 screen capture software.

  • Develops and coordinates strategies and standards for publications and internet/intranet.

  • Ensures communications program objectives are communicated accurately and effectively.

  • Manages the communications program and team and is responsible for work produced within the program.

  • Oversees a group of communications writers, coordinators, graphic artists and/or related support staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications field, public relations, or marketing

  • 10 years related experience in the field for public relations, public affairs or journalism related with experience in research, conducting interviews, writing, editing, and obtaining release/approval for articles, feature stories, news releases, and statements, including electronic, web based, and hard copy material in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance (Current active DoD clearance a plus)

  • Proven ability to support employee communication programs and products, media relations programs, community relations, special events, and provide photography support.

  • Newport Enterprise Realtime Development Server (NERDS), Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium, Microsoft Office Professional, AVS Video Converter, and Snagit10 screen capture software.

  • Ability to relocate or commute to the Dahlgren, VA area
