AECOM Safety Representative in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Representative for our Annapolis Junction, MD office. The selected candidate will provide on-site support for construction projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for on-site EHS on construction project(s).

  • Coordinate job site hazard analysis.

  • Be on site when work is being performed and document daily safety inspections.

  • Conduct frequent safety inspections and document all findings.

  • Assist in the development of site specific EHS plans.

  • Investigate all near misses, injuries, accidents, and property damage and generate reports on findings.

  • Interact with PMs, supervisors, and workers to identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practices.

  • Generate, review, and finalize safety submittals.

  • Run daily/weekly tool-box meetings.

  • Run weekly/monthly safety meetings.

  • Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with the approved Project Safety Plan, codes, and regulations.

  • Issue and administer Non-Conformance Reports as necessary and follow up to verify corrections are implemented.

  • Update Program and Project Manager on status of EHS issues.

  • Generate reports and track EHS related metrics.

  • Use independent judgement and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

  • Interact with Subcontractors and the Owner’s Representatives.

his position will provide an opportunity to obtain a US government security clearance. Applicants must be US Citizens.

Minimum Requirements

  • US Citizen

  • Actively, fully adjudicated TS/SCI w/poly security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in ES&H-related field, i.e., Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or other sciences.

  • 5 years of position related experience. ES&H-related experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

  • Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • 30-Hr OSHA Construction Safety

  • CHST or OHST Certification

  • Willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to 50 pounds.

  • Willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to write correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Active, fully adjudicated TS/SCI w/poly is preferred.
