Job Summary

AECOM has an excellent opportunity for an

IT Programmer/Developer Student Intern supporting our Chantilly, VA office during the summer 2018 season. The IT Programmer/Developer Intern will be responsible for design, development, troubleshooting, debugging, integration and implementation of systems (hardware and/or software).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and study of complex system requirements for deployment of new systems and services.

  • Test and refine the system procedure to improve performance.

  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain developed standards for in-house products and processes.

  • Provide technical guidance in IT engineering techniques and automated support tools.

  • Follow documented software development standards and approaches.

  • Follow the defined visual style of the application.

  • Develop solutions based upon a defined specification and test plan.

  • Develop software solutions that operate against relational databases including: Relational / object mapping.

  • Screen Creation and Report Development.

  • Perform unit testing of their work.

  • Completes work based upon the project schedule.

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must be a US citizen to apply for this summer internship position.

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology field (MIS, CIS, CS) .

  • A university student with no more than two academic years remaining before earning a degree. These students are typically rising juniors or rising seniors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SharePoint experience is preferred.
