Position Title Electrical Engineer Student Intern

AECOM has a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Student Intern supporting our program in Annapolis Junction, MD during the 2018 summer season. The selected candidate should have the ability to be a role model, client-focused, impactful and decisive. The Intern will provide support to design and construction professionals in support of US government clients, and be expected to be on-site a minimum of 8 hours per day within Government business hours. The Intern will provide technical support on all electrical systems under the supervision of a professional Electrical Engineer.
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, criteria and computer aided design and drafting (CADD) to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Assist and work with team of Electrical Engineers to perform assessment of systems.
Assist in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
Use computer software as a tool for solving electrical problems.
Maintain conformance with building standards, established engineering practices and applicable building codes.
Review program procedures and work under the lead EE’s direction to ensure all work complies with the current National Electric Codes and to perform all duties in a safe manner.

Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
A university student with no more than two academic years remaining before earning a degree. These students are typically rising juniors or rising seniors.
Knowledge and interest in the architecture/engineering field designing HVAC and plumbing systems.
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, Revit and AutoCAD).
Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard software.
