Position Title Environmental Planner

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Planner for immediate employment for the Anchorage, AK office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Preparation of environmental, planning, and engineering studies.
Apply understanding of planning to evaluate and mitigate impacts of development, and to learn new disciplines and skills.
As experience is gained from project involvement, training, and mentoring, the candidate will have the opportunity to assume increased responsibilities and task lead assignments.
This position will be involved in community, hazard mitigation, environmental, land use, and transportation planning, NEPA analysis and documentation.
This position will interact as part of the project team and will have direct communications (written and in person) with clients.
This position is responsible for learning basic selling techniques from mentoring staff.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Planning, or related field
5+ years' experience successfully preparing NEPA, emergency, or hazard mitigation planning documents
Understanding of applicable environmental regulatory framework for Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, including applicable state and federal laws
Strong research and analytical abilities
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the editing, oversight or preparation of technical reports
Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
Background working with federal and state government agencies
Familiarity with rural Alaska communities
Experience interacting with state and local regulatory agency representatives in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest
