Job Summary

AECOM has a nice opportunity for an

Operations and Maintenance Manager supporting our program in Alice Springs, Australia. The Facilities Maintenance Manager is accountable for the efficient operation, maintenance and support of all fixed plant, equipment, buildings and grounds at the Joint Defense Facility at Pine Gap (JDFPG), excluding site utilities and power generation. The position oversees a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance and infrastructure support, site renovations and project support. The selected candidate will provide leadership, management and vision to enable the delivery of consistently high quality results that meet Statement of Work requirements and strategically focus the Facilities Maintenance Area; effectively manage all Department resources including financial and personnel; apply appropriate Maintenance and engineering knowledge as required; maintain a close and direct liaison with the appropriate Government Points of Contact (GPOC) to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and satisfied; maintain a close relationship with the all Departments to facilitate the effective sharing of resources and integration of work schedules; oversee and lead the development and implementation of appropriate systems and processes to ensure employees are motivated, have access to appropriate training and understand applicable standards, processes and practices relating to their positions; implement planning processes to achieve constant improvement within the Service Area for current and future operational requirements; prepare and deliver reports and presentations to various stakeholders as required; develop and implement effective security management processes across the Service Area; promote and practice responsible Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) procedures across JDFPG; create and run reports and metrics; undertake investigations, reviews and negotiations on behalf of management and perform other duties as directed.

  • This is a local hire position.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret (TSPV) Defence security clearance.

  • Graduate qualification in appropriate technical discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Current driver’s license

  • Advanced management and leadership experience in the development of effective organizations, commercial structures, budgets, operations, processes and procedures.

  • Experience working in a facilities management role and environment> 5 Years.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing maintenance activities as well as use of Computerized Maintenance Management System.

  • Proven experience managing a large team.

  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and experience in the preparation and delivery of reports, briefings,

  • analyses and investigations.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement processes and procedures.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical ability.

  • Finance review, assessment and strategic manipulation.

  • Demonstrated capacity to drive a positive culture.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated resilience, flexibility and capacity to adapt to change.

  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cert 4 in Training and Assessment.

  • Trade qualification in a relevant discipline.

  • Personal computing skills and understanding of relevant IT applications, including Word, Excel and SAP.

  • Experience leading and managing change.

  • Understanding of working with Defence or Government agencies.
