The Water Business of AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Professional Engineer - Senior Water Resources Engineer, who is an expert in dams, levees and water resources engineering, for immediate employment in the New Mexico area. This individual should be a creative, highly talented engineer who will provide business development leadership and support along with technical and management guidance for a group of professionals in a team setting; the technical emphasis of the group is design / engineering of dams, levees, flood control, and other water resources projects.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established dams and levee-oriented career, with strong client contacts and relationships, especially among local and Federal dam/levee clients across New Mexico and surrounding states.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Leadership and/or participation in business development activities
Professional development of team personnel
Developing and nurturing the strategic direction of the team
Acts as primary point of contact with clients and has full responsibility for project delivery
Plans, directs, and supervises operations included in a large, complex project or several moderately sized projects
Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and designs
May be responsible for Project teams that include 10 or more members often representing multiple business lines
Provide leadership in the areas of design, analysis, and construction of various dam and levee projects
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
13+ years of experience in the evaluation, planning, design and construction of dams/levees and other water resource facilities, including project analysis, feasibility and budgeting
Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire
Must have experience in client service and business development
Must have strong technical progression within engineering for federal and local government contracts, as well as civil clients within the private sector
Must have experience in the analysis, design, and construction of dams, levees and other flood control structures
Must possess a valid driver's license
Master’s degree in Engineering
15+ years of progressive experience within the water infrastructure field
Personnel management, mentoring, leadership skills
Demonstrated business development acumen and experience
Leadership experience in proposal preparation
Strong client contacts and relationships, especially among dam/levee clients, including federal agencies, within New Mexico and the surrounding states
