AECOM Electrical Engineer/Designer in Alberta, Alberta

Job Summary

Aecom Calgary is hiring an Electrical Engineer/ Designer.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Design and specification development for electrical power up to 25 KV and distribution systems, lighting and low tension systems (fire alarm, telecommunications and security) focused in low voltage applications.

Design and specification of instrumentation and process control devices for various processes including water/wastewater treatment and industrial applications.

Design experience in with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects. Exposure to Water and Waste Water treatment processes an asset

Design experience with Roadway, Highway Bridges and Interchange lighting and control

Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs;

Assist in the team achieving engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis and reports) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices;

Work closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team

Required ability to manage, organize and participate in multiple work assignments including production support of contract documents as required

Minimum Requirements

University Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution + 4 years related industry experience with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects OR Technical Diploma + 6 years related industry experience with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects

Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

Ideally 8+ years related industry experience with institutional, commercial and light industrial projects. Exposure to Water and Waste Water treatment processes an asset;

Applicable experience in electrical related design and commissioning preferably encompassing: electrical distribution systems and equipment up to 25kV, variable speed drives, instrumentation & control systems;

Excellent written and oral communications skills; proven interpersonal skills and ability to work within multi-discipline environment;

Membership or eligibility for registration with APEGA as P.Eng. will be considered;

Experience with a variety of computer aided design platforms including Revit MEP, AutoCAD and Microstation for the production of contract documents

Familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code (NEC or IEC exposure is an asset).

Alberta Building Code and National Energy

Proficient in the use of power analysis software such as ETAP and SKM is an asset

Proficient in the use of AGi32 Lighting Design software

Fire Alarm verification experience
