Position Title Safety Instrumented System Engineer

AECOM is seeking a
Safety Instrumented System Engineer to be based in our Aiken, SC office.
Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision.
Act as a lead on less complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
Generate complete design specifications of more complex projects.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define
system specifications and requirements.
Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design
reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed
scope of work.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and background.

Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate engineering or sciences discipline from a four-year accredited college or university. Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering degrees are preferred.
A minimum of Five (5)+ years professional engineering experience at Department of Energy (DOE) and/or commercial nuclear facilities.
This may also include non-nuclear process safety management/ISA-84 experience (OSHA 1910.119).
Experience developing Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Calculations for DOE facilities or related non-nuclear process industry.
Experience developing Instrumentation Uncertainty Analysis/Setpoints for DOE facilities or related non-nuclear process industry Error Analysis.
Proficient with safety basis documentation for DOE facilities and/or similar non-nuclear process safety management.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.
Capable of documentation and calculation checking for nuclear facilities.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Candidate must be able to travel on business as needed.
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Experience in the design of DOE facilities and equipment.
