Position Title Consulting Engineer III

Implement the CGD process for the procurement of nuclear Safety Class and Safety Significant (SC/SS) items/services in accordance with ASME NQA-1 2008/2009 Addenda and applicable site procedures/guides (1Q, E7, 3E). As further defined below under Minimum Requirements, this process includes identification of the safety function of an item or service, performance of failure mode effects analyses, identification of critical characteristics of the item or service, and selection of appropriate methods of verification of the item or service critical characteristics.
Facilitate the procurement of SC/SS items/services as the Responsible Engineer.
Originate, review and approve CGD documentation including Replacement Item Evaluation/CGD, Material and Service Requisitions, and Receiving Inspection Criteria Packages.
Develop, review and/or approve procurement level 1 or 2 requisitions as the Procurement Specification Authority (PSA).
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering or management discipline or the sciences from a four year accredited college or university;
A minimum of 2 years Commercial Grade Dedication engineering experience and/or ASME NQA-1 nuclear procurement experience;
Must be capable of performing CGD Plan development to include Technical Evaluation:
o Identify end use application of replacement items/services
o Determine technical baseline impact (e.g., Like-for-Like; Equivalent; Alternate; New)
o Identify safety function(s) through review of safety basis documents and System Design Descriptions
o Analyze, evaluate, and thoroughly document credible failure modes and effects
o Determine Critical Characteristics (CC) for acceptance
o Determine appropriate Methods of Verification of the CC’s.
o Thoroughly document the CGD Plan including the technical evaluation, failure mode and effect analysis, selection of CC’s, and identification of methods of verification. Detailed justification is required for each step in the process.
o Address and resolve any CGD Plan review comments
Skilled in reviewing and approving procurement requisition documents.
Experienced in supporting the CGD Acceptance Process;
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be a US Citizen.
