Position Title Construction Lead Surveyor

Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a Construction Lead Surveyor to be based in our Aiken, SC location.
The Construction Lead Surveyor performs and/or directs, coordinates and supervises survey crew personnel in performance of survey activities to support SRR Construction, Operations and Maintenance initiatives. Interfaces with applicable organizations (i.e. Engineering, Supervision, Operations, Design) to perform assigned tasks and ensures all construction survey practices are followed. Monitors and controls schedule/budget and manages planning and performance of field activities.
Manages and coordinates survey work activities / crews performing field surveying in support of construction / maintenance or operations requests.
Represents Construction in project planning or other site related meetings providing recommendations and influencing outcomes.
Supports design planning meetings and walk downs. Provides advanced conceptual design and constructability reviews relative to survey / layout.
Contributes to construction schedule development relative to survey / layout.
Provides subject matter expertise for coordination of design/construction to resolve design problems of high complexity relative to survey / layout.
Coordinates, performs, and supports walk downs with applicable personnel relative to survey / layout.
Monitors compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. Makes recommendations as necessary to improve compliance conditions.
Participates in pre-job briefs (conducts or supports) to ensure workers and support organizations understand scope, hazards, mitigations and expectations. Ensures all questions or concerns are addressed.
Generates and/or reviews field fabrication sketches, as-builts, etc.
Monitors field activities and provides field support to crafts during implementation. Provides support for resolution of issues through direct interface with Construction Discipline Engineers (CDE) and/or supervision and coordination with support organizations.
Performs field inspection support to ensure compliance to design specifications (materials, configuration), procedures, guides and National Codes and Standards.
Coordinates with Quality Organization for independent surveillance and inspection.
Ensures proper M&TE use and documentation.
Monitors acceptance testing for assurance that design and code testing is complete and acceptable. Provides documentation of acceptance testing.
Develops/designs and provides verification of temporary construction structures (i.e. huts, support structures, etc.) and/or commodities (i.e. unique tools, miscellaneous equipment, etc.) as requested by facilities and/or management.
May perform the role of discipline SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must be capable of climbing and spending extended periods of time in the field as well as capable of obtaining qualification to work in radiation / contamination areas.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 8+ years construction survey experience OR;
High school diploma/GED and 14+ years combination of secondary education and/or practical construction survey experience
Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be a US Citizen
Registered Professional Surveyor
Previous lead or supervisory experience
Experience in the following:
Operating a variety of survey equipment and instruments in performance of physical layout work.
Operation of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment
Precision dimensional verification of commodities during fabrication or as-builts
Precise dimensional layout support for critical location / setting of equipment and / or commodities
Topographic and boundary surveys
Detailed drawings and sketches using Micro-station, including interference research for excavations and information sketches
As-built field maps
Survey equipment calibration
