Resident Engineer – Pipelines and Onshore Works . The role would be based in Accra, Ghana. We expect to mobilise in August/September 2018.

Resident Engineer (RE) would be part of the Owners Team for the onshore and subsea pipeline, as well as VRA Station
Duties and Responsibilities:
The RE’s duties include but are not limited to the following.
Planning all pipeline and onshore project activities (overview of all EPC contractor activities)
Reviewing daily work load and forecasts for pipeline and onshore construction activities and ensuring that all Quality and HSE matters are properly implemented according to the contract.
Lead the Pipeline and Onshore Construction Management Team, including inspectors.
Engineering oversight over construction to ensure construction is in accordance with the approved design.
Overview of all day-to-day construction activities related to the pipeline and onshore works, and the
Interface with Client’s Site Supervision.
Attending Project Management reviews and meetings (QM/QC, HSE, Planning, etc)
Site Project team liaison with Client, Authorities, and Independent Inspectors
Review of philosophies and approaches (of the EPC contractor) which are to be used for the construction.
Ensuring the development of Project procedures outlining the method of working, progressing and reporting principles of communication and documentation for the Owners Team.
Ensuring the implementation on site of all organization matters, procedures, reporting methods and contracts.
The co-ordination and training of team members reporting to him.
The ultimate oversight of planning, scheduling, cost, variation and contract matters.
Ensuring that all required contractual policies and procedures are implemented throughout the project.
Carry out regular field inspections to observe and evaluate conditions and performance of field work.
Review of all Contractor project procedures and method statements
Monitor contractor quality management procedures and practises
Ensuring all contractors activities are in accordance with the design and relevant project and international specifications
Monitoring and reporting of Contractor progress
Review and manage all variaitons
Ensuring implementation of the ITP
Witnessing of relevant activities as identified in the ITP
Minimum 10 years experience in oil and gas pipeline and associated facilities or related field.
Proven leadership capabilities.
Experience in similar role on at least 2 petrochemical pipeline projects to the value of more than $15 million.
Knowledge of industry best practice for health, safety and environmental management
Team leader / decision maker – ability to identify skill gaps in team members and implement appropriate development
Focused on client delivery – attention to detail and quality with a capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Empathy towards staff and colleagues – collaborative management style
- Eligibility to work in Ghana due to nationality is advantageous.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
