Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Civil EIT (Water/Wastewater) to be based in Sudbury, ON .

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist Project Manager and Design Leads with preliminary and detailed design projects including Class EA studies, condition assessments, design-related inspections, generating technical reports/memos, and design-related documents.

  • Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications and municipal standards.

  • Assist multi-disciplinary leads with the coordination of technical quality reviews and design/tender deliverables for client submission.

  • Prepare health and safety documentation as a requirement of construction phase services.

  • Assist Contract Administrator and Field Inspection staff on construction projects. Preparation and coordination with internal team members, General Contractors, and Municipal Staff throughout the construction phase.

  • Support and assist senior staff with contract administrative requirements including shop drawing reviews, processing of payment certificates, change orders, request for quotations.

  • Provide technical support to field staff and participate in field inspections as required.

  • Assist with factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), plant start-up, testing, training and commissioning.

  • Assist with the preparation ofvarious project specific documentation including operations and maintenance manuals, start-up, testing, training and commissioning documentation.

  • Assist with deficiency and warranty reviews for projects in municipal infrastructure.

  • Review of as-constructed surveys and assist project designer with the preparation of as-constructed drawings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering or other related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered as an EIT is preferred with eligibility to obtain P.Eng. designation within the first 2 years.

  • 2 or more years of experience in civil design and construction.

  • Basic understanding of control and automation systems related to water and wastewater plant process.

  • Strong technical writing skills.

  • A working knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation/Civil 3D is an asset.

  • Experience with both linear and vertical water and wastewater infrastructure projects is preferred.

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent English communication skills both oral and written.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and clients Diversity, Inclusion, and Accommodations.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $66,000.00 - $90,000.00.
